The identity of the man who died after being hit by a train on Thursday evening at the Burgdorf station (BE) has been confirmed as a 47-year-old Ukrainian resident in Canton Bern. An individual involved in the incident was apprehended, with details released today by the prosecution.
The arrested man was part of a group present at the station during the accident and subsequently detained by authorities. Another suspect from this group was released yesterday.
Initial findings suggest that the deceased ended up on the tracks for reasons yet to be established. Despite an emergency brake being applied, the approaching train struck him fatally.
